March 9th Water Update

The Town of Onoway had a mechanical contractor out yesterday. We initiated a full backwash cycle to verify the operation of the valves during the process. We found that one valve was stuck in the open position. With this valve in an open position like it was it would allow the potassium to be introduced in to the reservoir. After making some adjustments we were able to get the valve to operate as it is supposed to. We will continue to leave this equipment offline until new parts are in and changed out. Once they are changed out we will initiate another cycle and remain on site to verify the operation sequences. Alberta Environment has been notified of our findings as well as Alberta Health services.
