Quality of Life

Quality of Life

“Home is where the Heart is", and Onoway is home.  Many of us are long time residents but we have welcomed many newcomers to the Town.

We have all chosen Onoway as our home for many reasons. And yes there are many.  Some are:

Friendly Residents – where you know your neighbor.

Affordable Housing.

2 banking Institutions - to allow us to keep our money in our community.

Grocery store - with good variety of groceries

Florist Shop – to supply our needs for those special people in our lives.

Restaurants – supplying many different choices of cuisine.

Schools – K to 12 preparing our children for the future leaders of our country.

Churches – of every denomination.

Parks – for our youth and residents.

Medical Facilities – Doctor, Dentist, Pharmacy, Chiropractor and a medical lab able to perform our required medical tests.

Recreational Facilities - Hockey Arena and Curling Club, baseball diamonds and soccer pitches. And many more ……

The Town and surrounding area have a rich history which is preserved by the Museum and Historical Guild.  A 10 minute drive to the east and you'll find Imrie Park which is a Jewel in itself with day use, camping and hiking trails. 5 minutes South of Onoway is Salters lake, which supports a ready supply of Rainbow Trout fishing - in both summer as well as winter. For a  larger water experience, Lac St Anne is 15 minutes away where motorized water sports can take place.

All of this still maintains the rural lifestyle but if you want the amenities that a larger center can provide you are just 45 minutes away from Edmonton.

As you can see,  I can sum up all these reasons with one statement “Quality Of Life”.

I am proud to be a resident of Onoway and to be able to call it home now and for many years to come.
